Hello SWL Families,
PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Dear SWL Families, As we approach the winter break, I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the hard work, dedication, and support from both our students and families throughout the first part of this school year. It has been a wonderful period of growth and learning, and we are proud of all the progress our students have made. We are excited for the opportunities that the new year will bring and look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, January 6, 2025. Until then, I hope that you and your family enjoy a well-deserved winter break filled with rest, joy, and meaningful moments together. When we return in January, we’ll continue our work to create an environment that fosters creativity, curiosity, and collaboration. I am confident that the second half of the school year will be filled with incredible learning and achievements, and we can’t wait to see all that our students will accomplish. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our school community. We are grateful for the role each of you plays in making our school a place where students can thrive. Wishing you a peaceful and restorative winter break. We look forward to seeing everyone back in January! Warm regards, Andrea Petroni
PROVINCIAL ACHIEVEMENT TEST SCHEDULE Please see below for the Grade 6 and 9 Provincial Achievement Test Schedule.
ACCESSING ONLINE REPORT CARDS THROUGH MyCBE Families will be able to view online student report cards on Jan. 27, 2025. At that time, Parents and Guardians will be able to sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades. For best access to information, log in to the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App. For more information on viewing report cards, including instructional videos, please visit Accessing Online Report Cards Through MyCBE
Students and parents are reminded that extra caution should be taken during the winter months and periods of extreme weather. Calgary’s weather can include cold temperatures, wind chill and snow that make getting to and from school challenging. Please take a moment and review this important information with your children. Children should be warmly dressed and well prepared for winter weather, and not left unattended at bus stops for any period of time, under any circumstances. They should have clear instructions on how long to wait for the bus and what to do if the bus does not arrive. If you are dropping your child off early for practices or games, please ensure that they enter the school building before you drive away. They may need to wait until staff arrive to let them into the building.
PARKING LOT SAFETY Also, if you are parking in the Staff parking lot to drop off or pick up students, please park in the spots adjacent to the lane. The other spots are reserved for staff.
