MEET THE TEACHER
On September 24th, we invite you to join us to meet your child’s teachers from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. This year, we will begin with all families in the gym and then families will have the opportunity to go to presentations put on by teachers to share classroom expectations, curriculum content and important events. Teachers will be repeating the same session for each presentation, so families can pick when they go to meet each team. Families can choose how many sessions they attend.

VOLUNTEERING AT SWL
To ensure the safety and security of CBE students and staff, all volunteers must register with the school each school year before participating in volunteer activities.
The Annual Volunteer Registration Form is valid for the current school year only. All volunteers, including returning volunteers, must complete a new registration form each school year before participating in volunteer activities.
Parents and guardians can register as volunteers through the SchoolEngage tab in their MyCBE account. As part of the registration process, all volunteers must review the updated Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) requirements and sign to indicate their agreement with the conditions outlined in the form.
New this year: As an additional requirement under the new POPA legislation, community members who are not parents/guardians of a child registered with CBE must complete their volunteer registration in person at the school they wish to volunteer.

HOODIE SALES
Families are invited to order SWL spirit wear! Hoodies are available for purchase and can be worn by students at school to show their SWL pride and support our school spirit. Sizing samples will be available for students to try in Room 102 during lunch from September 15-27th. Ordering details are included below—thank you for supporting our school community!

HEALTHY HUNGER
Healthy Hunger at Sir Wilfrid Laurier is now open for orders! Our school hosts hot lunch options from a variety of restaurants throughout the year. To order these lunches, go to https://healthyhunger.ca , create an account, add your student, select their homeroom and you will then be able to see the dates and restaurants we are offering. Make sure to get your orders in 5 days before the lunch day.
ATHLETICS
Soccer and Basketball Schedules are posted on the SWL Website under Athletics
Game & Practice Schedules
Students are required to check with their coaches for game and practice schedules. The office does not have a list of schedule or time changes.
Athletics Spectator Policy:
- All fans welcome. Any fans not being respectful will be asked to leave; students and adults included.
- Visiting players need to be supervised by a parent/guardian or coach before allowed entry into the school. If players arrive before the coach and do not have a parent/guardian to supervise, they will be asked to wait outside (exception in dangerous weather situations)
- Students from visiting schools will not be permitted to spectate unless they are siblings of players on the vising team AND supervised by a parent/guardian.
- SWL students are not permitted as spectators at away games unless they are siblings of players and a parent/guardian is supervising them.
- Sir Wilfrid Laurier students are allowed to watch the first game of the night unsupervised, afterwards they must have parent/guardian supervision if staying to watch
